Seatac / Newcastle, Washington
These two projects were similar in their contracted depiction with clearing and grubbing, site excavation, fine grading and aggregate placement. Utility installation included off-site/on-site water and sewer, on-site storm system with detention pond construction.
Newcastle was an extraordinary site, as it was built on coal tailings from the old Coal Creek Mine. A custom pile system, known as “Heat Anchors” had to be used for the buildings, using 6’ well casings as piling and casing augured into the ground until refusal, averaging 340 at 30-ft deep.
